With our Hearts in the Arts, We bring Art to your Hearts

HeArts Creative Projects is a Sunderland based organisation. We support vulnerable communities through arts and creative projects. Our main specialised area is focusing on individuals with cognitive decline, delivering engaging meaningful activities and projects that provide mental stimulation, a sense of accomplishment and promoting well-being. However our programmes also encompass working with families, children, young and older vulnerable adults and carers in activities that inspire, educate, build life skills and confidence. Working in diverse settings, we continuously refine our approach to provide comprehensive support for creative and personal growth, enhancing community wellbeing. We offer a range of tailored workshops designed to stimulate self-expression, develop creative abilities and promote social connections. These initiatives help participants explore their resourcefulness, build resilience, strengthen community bonds, ultimately contributing to positive social change in our region.

Through HeArt-Centered Creativity we tap into the emotional core of individuals and communities, using art as a medium for self-expression, healing and connection.

What we do?

  • Innovative specialised art therapy sessions tailored for those affected by cognitive decline through meaningful engagement via structured art-based activities.
  • Group activities workshops that encourage social interaction, mental and physical wellbeing, breaking down social barriers, reducing isolation; Bring together participants of different ages which facilitates knowledge sharing and mutual understanding.
  • Sharing events: showcasing participants’ work that brings the community together, celebrates shared achievements, brings a sense of community involvement and purpose.

We engage residents in planning via consultation sessions to identify areas of their interests and gather ideas for artistic interventions, ensuring they reflect their health and wellbeing needs, local identity and aspirations.

What clients say about our service

‘’I’ve attended the Hearts Creative Projects community workshops for a good while now, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about them! I am a retired widow and this group has been a true blessing. It’s heartwarming to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to share their love and friendship through creative things. Anyone who is looking for a warm, inviting, and inspiring group to be a part of, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It’s more than just arts and crafts; it’s a family!’’
