Links with Nature – Volunteering Days
Links with Nature is an exciting project working across 13 greenspaces in the Coalfields including Copt Hill, Elemore Park, Elemore Vale, Flint Mill, Hazard Railway, Herrington Burn, Herrington Country Park, Hetton Park and Bogs, Hetton Lyons, Keir Hardie Park, Red Burn (Rainton Meadows) and Success Railway. Together with local residents, we working to help wildlife recover by improving woodlands, grasslands and wetlands. If you want to play an active part, do something practical, meet new people and feel healthy come along to one of our task sessions.
There are a variety of practical conservation tasks like cutting back vegetation, clearing ponds, raking grass, plus learning heritage skills like scything and coppicing, litter picks and much more!
Tasks take place weekly running 10:00-14:00 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
