Christians Against Poverty
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a free debt counselling service available to residents living in DH4 and DH5 postcode areas. To book in a home visit phone free on 0800 328 0006.
After you call CAP, a Debt Coach will visit you in your home, explain the service and collect information about your situation. Our trained debt counsellors will work out a realistic budget that prioritises your essential bills. CAP will negotiate affordable payments with each creditor and attempt to stop unfair interest and charges where possible. In most cases a CAP plan is set up for you. You will need to make one monthly payment to CAP who will distribute this on your behalf. You can also build up savings through your CAP plan.
If you are in severe debt, then we can talk through insolvency options. CAP can fill out the forms with you and support you until you are debt free.
